SSC CGL 2017


SSC CGL 2017 is most awaited exam of this year. The Staff Selection Commission conducts combined graduate level exam for recruiting staff for various ministries, government department, and subordinate offices. The Staff Selection Commission will release SSC CGL 2017 notification on 11th March 2017. For making transparency in SSC CGL 2017 exam, SSC starts to conduct the online exam. CGL exam is basically for filling the vacancies in income tax department, custom and excise, central bureau of investigation, narcotics department and the assistant section officer posts in various ministries. This exam is one of the priorities of candidates after UPSC. SSC CGL 2017 Eligibility Criteria:

1. The candidate must be a citizen of India, Nepal, Bhutan or Tibetan refugees who were a permanent resident of India before 1st January 1962.
2. Age Limit: The candidate should not be less than 20 and not more than 30 as on 01.08.2017. The age relaxation for OBC category is 3 years and for Scheduled Caste/ Tribe is 5 year.
3. Educational Qualification: The candidate must have graduation degree from a recognised university.

Application Fee for SSC CGL 2017: 

The application fee for online or offline mode is Rs 100/-. The candidate can pay fees by debit card, credit card, net banking and by SBI challan. The women, SC/ST, PH, Ex-servicemen are exempted from fees.

Selection Procedure: 

The candidate for SSC CGL 2017 exam will be selected on the basis of performance in written test and computer based test. The commission will organize this online exam in three tiers. The Tier 1 and Tier 2 will be objective paper and Tier 3 will be descriptive paper. The allotment of the post in SSC CGL 2017 is totally based on the marks obtained in Tier 1 and Tier 2. The Tier 3 paper is qualifying in nature and the marks obtained in this paper will not include in cutoff for selection of different posts. The Computer Based Test is essential for Assistant in Central Secretariat Services.


1. The interested candidate for SSC CGL 2017 can apply through online or offline mode.
2. For online mode, the candidate should visit official website of Staff Selection Commission i.e
3. Then click on Apply button, then you will see Part I Registration and Part II Registration.
4. Click on Part I Registration, but before filling up the online application form you should know your all details of educational qualifications, the date of birth in your matriculation certificate and if you are category candidate then you should know your category certificate details. The candidate should fill all details carefully.
5. Then you can click on "I Agree" button. After that, no change of application form or any detail will be allowed. Then a page of Registration ID and password will appear. Note down the Registration ID and password and keep safely.
6. Thereafter, Click on Part II Registration. In Part II Registration candidate should enter Registration ID and password and then fill the payment details and upload the photo and signature. The photograph should be 30-50 kb in size with a resolution of 100-pixel width and 120-pixel height. The signature should be 1-12 kb in size with the resolution of 140-pixel width and 60-pixel height.
7. Those who are exempted from fees can skip the payment mode and upload the photo and signature.
8. Then submit the form and take a print of application form and keep safely.

TIER I Exam Date: 19th June to 2nd July 2017
